Expressions of Concern

  • Policy: If there are valid and substantial concerns about the validity or ethics of published work, the journal may issue an expression of concern. This serves as an interim measure while the matter is investigated further.
  • Procedure: Expressions of concern can be issued by the Editor-in-Chief, following consultation with the editorial board and possibly external experts. The expression of concern will remain in place until a conclusive decision is made and will detail the issues under investigation.
